For Parents Tips
Affordable Treatments
Preschool-tips subscriber Elvira recommends that parents check out training facilities in your area for treatments such as massage. Apparently they sometimes offer free treatments from students! Iīve heard the same about hairdressing colleges and hospitality training-restaurants... Thanks Elvira!

La Leche League meetings
Be proactive in avoiding breastfeeding problems. Attend La Leche League meetings while you are pregnant so you will be informed about breastfeeding. You will also meet at least one local leader at the meeting. Therefore you will be more comfortable going to her for help if a problem should arise after you have your baby. You will know where to turn for help and have access to the support system.

Lonely? Join a momsī group.
If youīre feeling isolated and crave adult interaction, join a momīs group. Check the phone book, call the local maternity ward or ask your pediatrition about organizations and groups in your area. If a group is not available, start your own. Your Momsī groups can meet at a different location, like a park or the zoo, each week. The group can consist of neighborhood moms, moms from church, moms with kids the same age as yours, etc. The support will be great for you and the playtime will be great for your child.

Treat yourself to something nice
Treat yourself to something nice every week. The treat could be a manicure, a facial, a new article of clothing, a momīs night out, a bubble bath, etc. The treat allows you to rejuvenate yourself and allows you to give more to your family because you are also aware of your needs. Setting up a once a week ritual also allows you to have something to look forward to when times are tough with the kids.
