March 5, 2010, Newsletter Issue #194: Join a Playgroup!

Tip of the Week

If you are a stay-at-home parent, consider joining or hosting a playgroup with other parents. Once your child reaches preschool age, he or she becomes much more interested in initiating play with other children. If your child is not in daycare or school, there is a good chance he may not have much experience playing and interacting with other kids. A playgroup can give your child the right amount of social interaction for his age, and in a small group setting where he is less likely to feel intimidated. Look for one in your area or start one of your own today!

Check your local newspaper or children's magazine for listings, or try online at sites like Meetup.com.
